Grandview Heights Bobcats fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-2 loss to Amanda-Clearcreek on Monday. Amanda-Clearcreek scored on a single by Lockard in the first inning and a single by Boyer in the second inning.
Amanda-Clearcreek got things moving in the first inning, when Lockard singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Hodges earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Amanda-Clearcreek. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out three. Cassley threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Jon Vetter-Pierce took the loss for Grandview Heights Bobcats. He allowed nine hits and four runs over five and a third innings, striking out seven.
Josh Voltolini, Jon Micah Griffith, and Luke Berlin each managed one hit to lead Grandview Heights Bobcats.
Amanda-Clearcreek collected ten hits on the day. Boyer and Madison each collected multiple hits for Amanda-Clearcreek. Amanda-Clearcreek was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Boyer had the most chances in the field with six.
